Midnight (1).jpg

About the Play: MIDNIGHT is a fast-paced, hilarious comedy that was performed successfully in NYC. This will be the Texas premiere.

A backstage showbiz farce set in the mid-1950s that follows Jimmy Halloway, a Hollywood director experiencing a severe creative slump. Desperate to revive his career after directing a string of critically panned, albeit successful, war films, Halloway travels to New York for a crucial meeting with a legendary producer, Harvey Gouldenburg. The story features a chaotic mix of characters, including Halloway’s long-suffering assistant/lover Evelyn, his lawyer Dennis, and a stereotypical, perfect British butler named Theo Stintz. Halloway is under pressure to create a masterpiece, all while dealing with a phobia of out-of-work actors, a vengeful actor who previously attacked him, and the arrival of loudmouthed, chaotic industry figures like Gouldenburg.

Summer Break Theatre presents auditions for "MIDNIGHT!" by David Epstein.
